Gurugram: Pioneer Park residential society faced 30-hour power outage after transformer burst

blast in a transformer at Sector 56 substation, supplying electricity to Pioneer Park group housing society in Sector 61, resulted in a 30-hour-long outage early Wednesday morning.

The electricity went off at 4.50am on Wednesday and the supply was restored around 2.30pm Thursday, residents said, adding that fluctuations continued throughout the day. The blast in transformer occurred due to a technical glitch and officials of the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN), which is the transmission agency and the custodian authority of the substation, said it will only be in a position to replace it by Saturday. Meanwhile, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), the distribution agency, said it is supplying electricity to the society from other feeders.
